After GW6, for Carlisle United the league table reflects the quality of chances created and conceded and goals scored and conceded as shown in the xG and Goal tier rankings above.
Carlisle ranks in the bottom tier with 5 other clubs; Cheltenham, Grimbsy, Morecambe, Newport and Tranmere. We also rank 3rd bottom for goals conceded and xG conceded, only Newport and Bromley rank worse.
Our attack doesn't rank quite as badly. 14th overall.
Whoever the new manager is going to be, the league table does not lie, they need to get some results quickly, otherwise, it is going to be a long and painful season.
Looking at some other teams in the division.
Tranmere have statistically the worst attack, I expect them to fall from 14th in the league table.
Barrow have statistically the best defence, if they can improve in attacking areas I expect them to be pushing the top 7.
Gillingham's results don't reflect their statistical performances. I'd expect them to drop out of the top 3 over time if they continue in the same manner.
It doesn't come as a surprise that Notts are statistically ranked the best overall with Morecambe ranked statistically the worse overall.
